Not Sleeping Well? You're Probably Lying On the Problem!
Not sleeping well? Better check your mattress before you chalk it up to stress.
A recent survey indicates that people are five times more likely to attribute poor sleep to stress than admit to the condition of their mattress. Granted, stress will take its toll on even the healthiest sleeper every now and then. But if you're tossing and turning night after night, maybe it's time to see if the condition of your mattress is the real culprit that's robbing you of a good night's sleep.
According to the Better Sleep Council, "Consumers seem to be remarkably unaware that their mattress may be undermining their attempts to get a good night's sleep." Although most consumers agree that a good mattress is important for sound sleep, good health and to prevent back problems, they still keep their mattress until it's well past its prime and disrupts sleep.
Survey findings also indicate that consumers recognize on a theoretical level the crucial role their mattress plays in their sleep and health. But on a practical level, when it comes to their own sleep and health, they often overlook the condition of the mattress they sleep on every night.
When quizzed, more than 60 percent of survey respondents said they only think of their mattress when it disturbs their sleep. Perhaps what's really keeping you up nights is as plain as the tired old mattress on which you're trying to sleep!
