Solutions For Snoring
Snoring is one of the most talked about conditions in the bedroom – something that both men and women suffer or endure, and the root of everything from bad sleeping patterns to martial problems. We’ve seen old wives tales and interesting contraptions come and go over the years, but which ones are actually effective in preventing snoring?
Changing Positions
This one is still the easiest to try, as most snoring happens when you are sleeping on your back. Try sleeping on your side if possible, so that there is less pressure on your chest. The only drawback is that you may not feel comfortable in this position, nor be able to maintain it throughout the night.
Nasal Strips
If you don’t mind sticking something on your face, a nasal strip that attaches itself to the outside of your nose is designed to open up the nostrils and improve airflow. There are many other types of snoring aids, but this seems to be the least obtrusive.
Diet & Drinking
Snoring is more likely when you are overweight as there is an increased amount of pressure on your chest. Alcohol is also known to exacerbate snoring in certain cases. If you can, cut down on how much you consume and lose some weight.
Natural Mattresses
Along with changing your eating and drinking habits, the reduction of chemicals and toxins in your home environment may also be helpful. A chemical-free, 100% pure mattress won’t put you in contact with compounds that can be hard on your system. A natural Talalay latex mattress also conforms to your body so that it relives pressure from your chest, neck and head and possibly reduces the chance of snoring.
Surgery
You may have heard of people going to extreme measures to reduce throat tissue or reshaping nasal passages through surgery. Like any surgery, there are physical risks, can be costly and there’s no guarantee that it will actually work.
